Uh…Not So Sure Anymore…

Hi Girls.

So…I have something to say…I’m not so sure about doll blogging anymore.  Ever since American Girl displayed their support of gay marriage, it’s been harder to keep interest in doll blogging.  I just don’t really enjoy it.  To be honest, like many of you have probably noticed through my un-activeness, it’s always been sort of a chore for me.  I love my dolls, and I really appreciate every single one of you-you all mean so much to me!  But I want to have fun blogging.  That’s why I’m considering not posting here anymore.  I may come back eventually, but right now I am going to put my focus entirely on MFL(myforgottenlibrary.wordpress.com)and STL(sendthelightblog.wordpress.com).  If I can keep up with those  blogs, I’ll start a life blog to replace this one.  I think I would really enjoy that more.  So no, I’m not leaving the blogging world, and I am not deleting HODD, however I may no longer be posting here.

I hope that you guys understand. 🙂

Signing off,

Lainey

  1. I’m sorry to hear that! And, you know, I had no idea that you had other blogs other than this one! I think I’ll go check them out, if you don’t mind. 🙂

  2. I totally understand, Lainey! In fact, I kinda feel the same way. I feel a little uncomfortable doing AG-related posts now because of their gay marriage support, so I just decided not to do those type of posts anymore, and focus on other doll brands instead. 🙂
I am really glad you are doing what YOU want, not necessarily what OTHERS want. I will definitely keep reading your other blogs! ❤ ❤

    1. Thanks so much, Sunny! You’ve always been so supportive! 🙂
Yeah, it is uncomfortable, and I now I’m so-well…I’ll use the word, upset, with AG, that it’s hard to take pleasure in posting pictures of their products. I have to remind myself though, that I need to pray for the people that make AG products and print their magazines, instead of being upset with them.
Thanks again for your support, Sunny! You’re such an awesome friend!:D

      1. Genesis 19:4-13

4 But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter:

5 And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them.

6 And Lot went out at the door unto them, and shut the door after him,

7 And said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly.

8 Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof.

9 And they said, Stand back. And they said again, This one fellow came in to sojourn, and he will needs be a judge: now will we deal worse with thee, than with them. And they pressed sore upon the man, even Lot, and came near to break the door.

10 But the men put forth their hand, and pulled Lot into the house to them, and shut to the door.

11 And they smote the men that were at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great: so that they wearied themselves to find the door.

12 And the men said unto Lot, Hast thou here any besides? son in law, and thy sons, and thy daughters, and whatsoever thou hast in the city, bring them out of this place:

13 For we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is waxen great before the face of the Lord; and the Lord hath sent us to destroy it.

    1. I agree. I never knew they supported gay marriage, and lately, I just don’t really LOVE AG like I did. The Wellie Wishers are cute, but their not really AG.

      1. Yeah. Though sadly, I discovered that they had been supporting Planned Parent Hood for a long time before this happened last October.

      2. Yeah, it’s sad, considering their mission is to help girls find their inner star. When Truly Me was launched, I guess they started doing things, and one thing just was not cool.

      3. Yeah. They want girls to feel as if they fit in and are accepted, but they’re really just destroying girls by supporting this stuff.

      4. Exactly. Before, they were great. And, you’ve got to admit, some of the early books were great! Like, a smart girls guide to liking herself, even on the bad days. That one helped me. But, now I really think they are just…..heading in the wrong direction.

      5. And I really like Ag’s new release, so it will be hard not to support them. I really want some things, but I think that I have to do what is right. If we ever do go to Dallas, I may look around, but not buy.

      6. Yeah, it is hard, though that’s great that you’re making that decision! Sadly, it’s one that a lot a people aren’t willing to make. 😦

      7. My dad was in Dallas, and it was so hard to say not to get us anything from AG. I guess my min toy is Shopkins now. Ooooo, maybe instead of my doll blog I quit, I could make a shopkins collector’s blog!

    2. They technically aren’t supporting LGBTQ+,but supporting the girl and what she’s doing for foster children. However, it’s fine if you don’t support the rainbow, and it’s your choice not to blog, and it’s your choice in what you believe. I support your choice not to AG blog right now.

  3. Aw, that’s too bad, but I understand. After I read your post about it, I stopped doing posts about AG products. Anyway, I’m glad you’re not leaving the blogging community, and I hope you do well with your other blogs! 🙂

  4. It’s too bad that happened. It is wrong and against God’s teachings, but I’m afraid we can’t control what other people do. I think everyone who reads this WILL support your decision, though. Like Christian Homeschooler, I am glad you are going to keep blogging!
If you are looking for an alternative to AG, Gotz is a good company.

      1. I’m happy you made the choice (not that I don’t like your blog!) ,But I can’t believe AG would…No, I could…I had no idea they supported this? How’d you find out? How are they supporting it?

      2. Thanks for the encouragement!:) ❤ Yes, its terrible. 😦 An article in their magazine. I'm not sure if they support gay marriage financially, but by writing that article, they showed that they were totally ok with it. They also support(and this one may be financially) Planned Parenthood.

  7. Aww, it’s sad that you’re gonna stop this blog, but I agree it’s for a good reason! ♥ It’s so sad that AG supports gay marriage. 😦 😡 Ugh.
    P. S. Which of your other two blogs do you think you’ll post your WordCrafters entry on?
