The first initial feeling I felt as I came into consciousness was the thought of someone using a hammer to pound the inside of my head.

As I opened my eyes, a pretty teen, about fourteen I presumed, was leaning over me.

 

I sat up and groaned.

“Great.”  She said, sounding relived. “You’re up.”

“Where am I?”

“In Ann Marie’s hidden dungeon.” She replied simply, as if the statement was as common as a friendly “Good morning!”.

“Who and what are you talking about?  And who are you?” I asked, filled with bewilderment.

She started to turn away.  “My name is Katherine, though you can call me Kat.  I despise my name.”

“Um…ok.  Well, I’m Karen.”

“I know.” She said as she walked past my small bed.

“But how-”

“Sorry, Karen, but there’s no time for questions.” She interrupted.  “Now,” She pointed to a pile of clothes at the edge of my mattress. “Now hurry and get out of that nightgown and change into these clothes.  I’ll be waiting outside the cell door.  You have exactly two minutes.”  And with that final statement, the mysterious girl named Katherine- correction, Kat- left my tiny cell room.
